The Queen’s Beasts series is based on the ten heraldic statues made for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953, and it is now a completed series, which is a large part of its appeal to collectors.
Because the series is finished, complete graded sets and top grade examples of individual beasts have a fixed supply. Population reports from NGC and PCGS become especially useful for judging how scarce a particular coin is at a particular grade.
