About the 1oz Silver Maple Leaf
The Silver Maple Leaf is 9999 fine, purer than almost any other silver bullion coin, and has been struck by the Royal Canadian Mint since 1988. One troy ounce, 38 millimetres across.
It carries the same radial line machining and micro engraved security mark as its gold counterpart, and it is widely traded, so selling it on is straightforward.
Two things to weigh. It is not British legal tender, so unlike the silver Britannia it carries no Capital Gains Tax exemption for a UK resident. And like all silver sold in Britain, it carries VAT at twenty per cent, which is included in the price shown.

Questions people ask
Does it carry VAT?
Yes. Silver and platinum are standard rated in the UK, so twenty per cent is added. The price shown already includes it.
Is it Capital Gains Tax exempt?
No. It is not UK legal tender, so it does not carry the exemption that a sovereign or a Britannia does.
How is it supplied?
In a protective capsule, sent in discreet packaging that says nothing about what is inside.
What if the price moves before I pay?
The price on this page is the metal at this moment. When you send us your order we confirm the final figure with you and hold it while you pay, so you are never charged a number you have not seen.
